Positioned in one of Devonport's most established residential streets, this renovation focused on revitalising and future-proofing a much-loved character home while preserving the charm that made it special in the first place.
The project combined cosmetic upgrades, essential maintenance and carefully considered improvements to enhance both the appearance and functionality of the home. From refreshing the interior and exterior finishes to upgrading key living spaces and addressing long-term maintenance requirements, every aspect was approached with longevity and craftsmanship in mind.

Bringing New Life To An Existing Home
Many renovations aren't about completely reinventing a home. They're about recognising what already works and making it better. At the Arawa Avenue home, the goal was to refresh and modernise the property while maintaining the character and proportions that sit so naturally within the surrounding Devonport streetscape. Extensive interior and exterior painting transformed the overall appearance of the home, creating a cleaner, lighter and more contemporary feel while preserving its original personality.
Improving Everyday Functionality
Alongside the cosmetic upgrades, the project included the renovation of key living spaces that have the greatest impact on everyday life. A new kitchen and upgraded bathrooms improved functionality, comfort and usability throughout the home, while a new level-entry deck strengthened the connection between the house and outdoor living areas. The deck not only enhanced accessibility but also created a more seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces, making the home easier to enjoy year round.
Protecting The Home For The Future
Character homes often require ongoing care to maintain their integrity and performance. As part of the renovation, rot repairs and maintenance works were completed to address areas requiring attention and help safeguard the home for years to come. Following completion of the main renovation, Coast & Country Homes returned to undertake additional works enclosing the rear section of the garage, further improving the usability and functionality of the property.
