Our Story
Coast and Country Homes has long been part of the local building landscape. In 2025, the business entered a new chapter under the ownership of Zane and Chloe Dykman, continuing a legacy built over many years by Dave Sievers.
Zane first began his apprenticeship under Dave, learning the trade through hands on experience across renovations and new builds. That early foundation shaped the way he works today, with a strong focus on detail, consistency and doing things pride and care.
Taking ownership of the business marks a full circle moment. It reflects both the history behind Coast and Country Homes and the direction it continues to move in.

Working on villas and character homes requires a clear understanding of how they are built and how they should be treated.
We take the time to understand the existing structure before making changes. Original features are preserved where possible. New work is carefully integrated so it feels balanced and resolved.
Across all projects, there is a consistent focus on detail, proportion, and finish. Whether it is a restoration, an extension, or a new architectural home, the same level of care is applied.
THE TEAM
Coast and Country Homes is a close knit, hands on team.
Zane is actively involved within the business, ensuring work on site is carried out to a consistent standard. Chloe supports the business behind the scenes.
Dean Mattson leads project delivery on site. With over 40 years in the building industry, he brings deep experience across architectural residential construction. Dean has delivered complex, high value homes for leading New Zealand architects and is known for his attention to detail, coordination on site, and steady control of programme and trades.
Supporting the wider team is a group of experienced builders on site who take pride in their work. Many have been part of the business for years and understand the level of detail expected, particularly when working on villas and character homes. Their consistency on site is a key part of how each project is delivered.
Together, the team works closely with clients, architects, and designers to deliver each project with care and consistency.

Communication stays consistent. Decisions are made with purpose. The standard on site does not shift from start to finish.
