CHARACTER HOME

The project focused on carefully balancing heritage features with contemporary functionality. Existing architectural details were retained and enhanced, while new additions were thoughtfully integrated to feel as though they had always been part of the home.

Traditional weatherboard cladding, timber joinery and handcrafted detailing sit alongside generous living spaces, improved indoor-outdoor flow and covered entertaining areas that allow the home to be enjoyed year-round.

A series of outdoor living spaces were created throughout the property, connecting the home to its mature gardens and providing multiple areas for entertaining, relaxing and family life. Custom pergolas, timber decking and landscaped surrounds help create a private retreat within the heart of Auckland's North Shore.

Throughout the renovation, careful attention was paid to maintaining the character and proportions of the original home while introducing the comfort, performance and practicality expected of a modern family residence.

The result is a home that respects its history while being perfectly suited to contemporary living.
